Induction: Re-creation of a movie magazine front cover

This was my first properly done piece on photoshop, it was a basic task with just copy the style and look of a magazine covers front page. i knew how to manipulate the text that i had wirtten into the style and shape of the orginal, but it wasnt exactly the same. when the more harder parts cropped up i was unable to proceed with them has it wasnt in my capability of knowning how to use photoshop.

know that i am more familiarised with photoshop after using it a couple more times at home and in other lessons, i am confident in my own capability to use photoshop mopre confidently and would be able to re do this magazine cover to a higher standard which it currently is. with my recent improvement with using photoshop the changes that i would have done differently is that i would have used the brightness and contrast tool on the picture before writting any text ontop of it. i used alot of drop shawdow, inner glow and outer glow within the writting of my work as it gave it the standard affect to look exactly like the orginal, i would like to improve more on my decision making as i didnt use the colour picker tool which copys the exact colour of the image so i would be able to transfer it, that is something i would change when am doing my next piece on photoshop.

a difficulty that i had with alot of the text was adding the drop shadow as i had to be careful to make sure the didnt colide with each other as there was alot of text on my front cover of my magazine, a use benefit to make sure they didnt was the fact that used inner glow to help me create a black outline of the text which make it stand out much better, what ever colour the text was. with the picture slide at the bottom i was unable to complete that has what i had 2 do was not in my understanding and how to navigate around photoshop, this is were i would like to improve ma techniques which i will be able to do next time. another drawback to my understanding of photoshop at that moment was that i didnt know how to putthe main title behind the characters head (brad pitt) this was a very demorolising as it stood out that there was a difference between the two.

although i am happy with my first piece i am sure with a bit more understanding about photoshop and how to use the tools and the different technquies, i will gain a better outcome in my work and i will be more pleased on how i am presenting my work to the teacher. with a bit of understanding with photoshop my first proper piece done wasnt as bad as i thought it would be, put personally i would have liked it to me better. with me use of photoshop now it will allow me to position my work much better as in my first attempt i was unable to fit everything in which also would make a major affect in a comparrison between the two.
